The course "Surgery on Cadavers" is aimed at skilled surgeons needing to improve technique for reconstructions in difficult anatomical areas.
The aim is to learn, manage and practice flaps for face periorificial areas.
The course is spread over 3 days and consists on different lectures, including discussions, an interactive session and practical parts.
Lectures are delivered to the entire group of participants at the same time, while for hands-on sessions participants are split in smaller groups, with the opportunity to experience live demonstration of surgery on cadavers.
Day 1: Theoretical part for anatomy and recontructive options of face unit
Day 2 and 3: Practical session on human cadaver head of selected flap. They will be paired and both will perform the technique as 1st and 2nd operator.
At the beginning of the course all participants will make a short evaluation of their needs and at the end of the event they will discuss about what they learned.
Learning Objectives:
- plan properly dermatologic surgery reconstruction according to anatomical location
- be aware of the anatomical possible risks and complications and their prevention or management
- perform more complex repairs in surgery
