International Symposium of the CRC156

Dear colleagues,

It is with special pleasure that on behalf of all members of the combined research grant TR156 I would like to invite you to our 3rd Int. Symposium “Frontiers in Skin Immunity” to the beautiful city of Heidelberg. The symposium will take
place from May 15-16,2026 and will provide a “state of the art” overview of recent developments in skin immunity. We are fortunate to host this event and have assembled some of the world’s most renowned experts in the field as
speakers.

The goal of this symposium is not only to provide an expert overview about the hot topics in skin research, but also to present the work of our TR156 at the end of its third funding period. Therefore an intense poster discussion with all
project leaders will be prepared on the first day of the symposium. The TR156 is a world-unique consortium that bundles the research activities of the three universities Heidelberg, Tübingen, and Mainz in skin immunity. Its goal is to provide better insights in the skin immune system in a more “wholistic” approach. Therefore dermatologists, immunologists, microbiologists, and bioinformaticians are working together in this grant to gather a more complete and complex picture of the immune system of the skin and its interactions with systemic immunity. We are very proud that the German funding association (DFG) has granted us with the support necessary to pursue this goal.

Please join us in Heidelberg for this unique event of scientific exchange, fruitful interactions, and networking. Especially young investigators are cordially invited to join us for intense discussions and hopefully new scientific collaborations.

We all hope to see you in Heidelberg in May 2026!

With kind regards,
Prof. Dr. A. Enk (Spokesperson of the TR156)
