The symposium is focused on the natural protective layers of our bodies that shield us from harmful external influences. These protective layers, such as the skin, mucosal membranes, and intestinal epithelium, play a central role in our health. Of particular interest is how they interact with the many microorganisms that live on and inside us, working together to regulate inflammation and maintain the body's internal balance.
These protective layers are crucial in many allergic conditions, such as eczema, food allergies, rhinitis, asthma, and even in viral infections. In this symposium, we will examine the skin in the area of tension between protection and vulnerability in chronic inflammatory diseases. A network of international experts will present the current state of research from science and medicine will present the current state of research.
