29th Annual Meeting of the German Society for Parasitology

Welcome to Bonn!

Dear Colleagues,

We cordially invite you to the Annual Meeting of the German Society of Parasitology (DGP), which will take place March 18th – 21st, 2020 in Bonn. A city with more than 2000 years of history and whose diverse roles are reflected in its several names; "Beethoven City", "City of the United Nations on the Rhine" and "Federal City", the latter in recognition of its role as the former capital. Today, Bonn is at the very center of science. The Friedrich Wilhelms University, founded in 1818, is one of the oldest and most traditional universities in Germany and offers us the former Electoral Palace, an ideal conference center in the heart of Bonn. Our diverse and interdisciplinary programme with highlights from parasitology and veterinary medicine covers basic research on parasites and their interaction with the host to the development of effective drugs. This year’s focus is on combating neglected tropical parasitic diseases under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), helminth immunology, drug development and One Health approaches.

The social evening on a Rhine steamer will provide further opportunities for exchange in a relaxed atmosphere. In addition to our colleagues active in research and the clinic, we would like to cordially invite young scientists to actively participate, who will benefit from discounted fees and have the chance to win awards for the best presentations. We look forward to welcoming you in Bonn!

Sincerely yours

Prof. Dr. Achim Hörauf
