The year 2020 presented us with an enormous challenge – Covid-19. Sadly, our meeting had to be cancelled less than a week before the actual date. At this point, I would like to thank all who have shared parts of the high cancelation costs, which nobody would have covered otherwise.
We hope that one year later the epidemiologic situation allows us to meet face to face again for the DGP 2020->2021. Therefore, we cordially invite you to the renewed 29th Annual Meeting of the German Society of Parasitology (DGP), which will take place March 15–17, 2021 in Bonn, a city with more than 2.000 years of history and whose diverse roles are reflected in its several names: “Beethoven City”, “City of the United Nations on the Rhine” and “Federal City”, the latter in recognition of its role as the former capital. Today, Bonn is at the very center of science.
The Friedrich Wilhelms University, founded in 1818, is one of the oldest and most traditional universities in Germany and offers us the former Electoral Palace, an ideal conference center in the heart of Bonn.
This year’s focus is on combating neglected tropical parasitic diseases under the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), helminth immunology, drug development and One Health approaches. Additionally, we provide a diverse and interdisciplinary programme within the fields of parasitology and veterinary medicine with sessions on vectors and entomology, veterinary parasitology, wildlife parasitology, parasite immunology, parasite-host interactions, parasite molecular biology, emerging parasitic diseases as well as clinical parasitology.
In addition to our colleagues active in research and the clinic, we would like to cordially invite young scientists to actively participate, who will benefit from discounted fees and have the chance to win awards for the best presentations.
We look forward to welcoming you in Bonn!
With best regards
